Tell the story of your culture, heritage and life experiences through collage art.
Participants will create personalized “storybook collages” using a variety of cut-and-paste techniques and old/used books. Use your imagination to tell the story of “YOU”- drawing from your past and present ... or going into the fictional future! It’s your story to tell and to share with others!
No previous art experience is necessary. The workshop is facilitated by collage artist and educator, Morna McNulty, who will use the first part of class to introduce the theme, share examples, and model techniques to use in your own project. The class lasts 90 minutes. Participants can always start the project and complete it at home if needed.
All art materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own items such as personal photographs and letters to use in your creative process.
This workshop will be a part of a Culture and Heritage Program Series of free monthly workshops where guests will explore new cultures through art or express their own personal heritage in unique and creative ways.
