About the Event

In this 2-hour workshop participants will explore techniques of creative expression through collage/mixed media. Using original photographs, magazine images, words, and other items, Morna will guide participants in the journey of making "Quarantine Cards." Each card tells a story and is created with a special person in mind, resulting in a "secret messaging" between the sender and the recipient. Art is about relationships; between maker and audience, between artist and medium, between object and idea, or between the known and unknown. When spontaneity meets process, I like to call these moments "alchemical." During the first 30 minutes, participants will receive demonstrations on the application of various techniques. The remainder of class is for participants to share or work alone on creating a set of four or more cards of their own. All materials will be provided but participants are invited to bring their own materials as well. This class will be held outdoors. All participants are expected to wear masks and space will be designated to assure social distancing. Space is limited. Rain date in case of bad weather is Sunday, September 12th.
