About the Event

Unlock the power of your creativity with our introductory Encaustic Painting Workshop!

This hands-on course will take you on a journey into the pigmented hot wax process, allowing you to explore a range of techniques and express yourself like never before.

Our skilled instructor, Barbara Talbott, will begin with a demonstration of a basic technique, followed by plenty of studio time to try it out yourself.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, this class is the perfect opportunity to experience the encaustic tools and materials in a safe and comfortable environment.

We'll cover everything from prepping the substrate to applying wax medium and layers of color, texture, incising, carving, and collage.

Encaustic painting is one of the oldest mediums known to man, with roots tracing back to the ancient Greeks. The medium has enjoyed several resurgences throughout history due to its beauty and versatility. With pigment suspended in wax and damar resin, the medium is heated and used in its liquid state.

What's great about encaustic is that there's no need for experience - it's a very forgiving medium that allows you to explore line, form, and color rather than realistic painting.

Don't miss your chance to unlock your artistic potential and discover the beauty of encaustic painting. Enroll in our introductory class today!

Materials Included In Price !(electric griddle, heat guns, heat resistant working surface, wood paint boards pots of encaustic paint (red, yellow, blue, white, black), encaustic medium, natural bristle brushes, thermometer to monitor the griddle temperature, carving tools, collage supplies.)
