About the Event

This four-week class for 4th-8th graders, will teach participants the basic language and techniques of African Drumming applying them to original drum cadences named after African and African American leaders, all created by Beyond the Natural instructor Moziah Bradley in his “Talking Drums” curriculum.

This class is four Wednesdays in a row; February 1- February 22.   The final class on February 22nd will feature a performance by the children, as well as by the instructor, Mosiah Bradley. 

Fee: $20 per student for all four classes OR $30 for two students (bring a friend or sibling!) for all four classes

All materials provided.  Class size is limited.  Students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent. 

Instructors: Moziah Brantley was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. His primary instrument is the drum set and he learned African drumming while in Nashville, Tennessee in 1988 where he attended workshops…
