Photographic Explorer with Anne Kelley Looney

Event Details: Photography has become a widely used medium enjoyed by amateurs as well as pros to capture both significant and subtle moments to add to their personal narrative. This workshop is facilitated by professional photographer Anne Looney to strengthen your foundation as a storyteller of subtle moments, gain a level of intimacy with your subject and more.

Goals & Benefits: Over four sessions, you will increase your knowledge of camera work, still life photography, outdoor photography, and people photography.  Each session includes assignments, information sharing and interactive discussions. Students will be invited to write a poem, or find a quote or poem about photography to share.

Workshops meets four times + mini homework assignment

Dates (4 sessions):

September 22 + 29 + October 6 + 13

Time: 1:00 pm - 3:30pm

Workshop size: minimum 6 to 8 participants.

Artist mini bio: Anne brings a unique lens with her vast experience in the arts from studying at Parsons School of Design, Paris and under Denis Brihat in Lacoste, France, and working at the National Gallery of Art in the Department of Design.

What can I bring into the event?

Participants Recommended Materials: Manual Camera or a Cell phone with excellent lighting.

Ideally, a camera with manual functions, but cell phones with excellent light gathering and image quality will work if you do not have access to a manual camera.  We are focusing on ways of seeing, timing, composition, and lighting more than camera function.

Cancellation

Root Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops at our discretion (inclement weather, etc.). Registrants will be given the option of participating on the new date, receiving a studio credit or receiving a full refund. Communication for cancelled and rescheduled workshops is sent via email.
